The anatomy of a Doorknob.

So for school, in Advanced Photography, we have an ongoing assignment involving which we take pictures of one thing throughout the year. A role of film a marking period. so that equals to 4 rolls of film total on the one subject you have decided to shoot. Now I have this obsession with door knobs. I don't know why but I just love them. My teacher looked at me like I was crazy when I told her. She said it could come out really great but she kept questioning my take on photographing 144 pictures of doorknobs. So I let her get her way and told her that I would take pictures of key holes and locks and the hinges as well.. just to humor her. But I must say that the bulk of my film will consist of asymmetrical pictures of doorknobs. I think it will look really cool if I have an array of doorknobs in black and white on a black board. It's going to look pleasing to the eye. I decided to put up an assortment of photographs of doorknobs that were not taken by me!!! just some inspiration for my challenge.

So when i saw these pictures i was in heaven. i really don't know why i love taking pictures of doorknobs so much but i just do. But these are my main inspirations for doorknob photography. i guess i love how each doorknob is different. not one is the same. they all have different forms and little pieces of character that makes each one so cute and charming.
